But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth (Acts 1:8).

In Acts chapter 2 we see that on the Day of Pentecost everyone was in one accord in the same place. Let’s look at that again. The scripture says: “they were all with one accord in one place” (Acts 2:1). Just imagine the power and authority of ‘one accord’, the beauty of the  holiness of God’s people gathered together to worship God and receive His blessings. Glory to God!
Verse 4 is comprised of 3 short statements of fact:

1 – And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost,
2- and began to speak with other tongues,
3 – as the Spirit gave them utterance (Acts 2:4). Read chapter 2.

The disciples in the upper room were united, in one accord, for one purpose. Every person whose heart and mind was focused on God was filled with the Holy Ghost. But not only that, they began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. This Pentecost event caused a great stir among the Jews near and far.

I pray, Father God, send Holy Ghost fire to sweep through Your church, to ignite a passion for holiness and zeal for good works. Send Your Holy Ghost power to sweep through the nations causing hearts to turn from sin and recognise Jesus Christ as Lord. Father God, I pray that we, the church be the church, holy and set apart, filled with Holy Ghost Fire, clothed in righteousness, praying, preaching, teaching, healing, prophecying and seeking Your face according to Your Holy Word. May we “grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for evermore. Amen” (2Peter 3:18).
