Greetings Brethren, because you are my friends I Greet you and bless you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

In the New Testament, the people who believed in Jesus became good friends with each other. They studied the Scriptures together. They constantly discussed the things Jesus’ disciples had taught them. They even shared copies of the disciples letters so everyone could hear them read. They spent time together, shared meals, and prayed for one another. Why? Because they were friends. Let us do the same by praying for each other and sharing the Word of God – because we are friends through Christ.

John 15:15 tells us that Jesus promoted His followers from servants to friends, then to God’s children. 1John 3:1 tells us that because of love we are called sons, adopted through God’s love. Because of God’s pleasure and His will, we have received adoption through Christ Jesus, (Ephesians 1:5). Good friendship with each other in Christ leads to nothing but goodness in life. Good friends are not critical of each other. Good friends don’t gossip about each other, neither do they set out to hurt each other. However, things can go wrong from time to time with friends or family. But thank God for the power of repentance and reconciliation – good friends make up quickly, restore each other quickly, (Luke 17:3; Galatians 6:1) remembering that in Christ we are not just friends anymore but family.

My family, let us do more walking than we do talking. Jesus walked a lot, and did only good works. I pray that God would knit us and bind us together in Christ, holy and unshakeable with bonds of love that cannot be broken. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray and give thanks to the Almighty God, Our Father. Amen.
