“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” (Joshua 1:8). This particular verse in the book of Joshua is clear that by the law of God we can prosper and have good success in our lives. Like the Psalmist in Psalm 1:2, we should meditate on the Word day and night. It is by reading the word that we learn to fear God and keep His commandments. (Deuteronomy 17:19).The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.

Father God, we pray for Your church to always acknowledge You as God, creator of all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. We pray, O God, for spiritual awakening and reverential fear to be activated and demonstrated in the house of the Lord: in the pews, altars and gatherings of the saints of God. May congregations grow in reverential fear. May an increase in wisdom outflow from our daily lives and touch people’s lives, as we worship, honour and give You thanks, Lord, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
