Eternal God and Father, we cry Abba Father, 

We cry for the safety and security of children, for the ones we know and all those across the world. Father, we are all Your children, some old, and others very young and unable to protect themselves. 

Father, the world that you made is in peril. Children were killed while at a children’s event. These tiny infants were in a safe place but evil was present. O God, of heaven, have mercy on humanity. We have lost our way, we have wandered from Your Commandments and principles, and our children are dying. 

We pray, heavenly Father, for Your intervention, for Your comforting peace. Father, deliver the parents from the deep despair, from heartache, and the pain of loss. Heal their emotions, O God, help them to deal with the unexpected and tragic death of their children. Father, comfort relatives and friends, nursery and emergency services staff, and everyone affected by this dreadful tragedy in Southport. 

Father, we give You thanks for Your love and Your faithfulness. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
