Fear Not
Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. (Genesis15:1).
Fear not my brethren, be strong and be encouraged in the name of Jesus, if God be for you who can stand against you. God is a shelter from life’s storms, the righteous run in and are saved. Fear not, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. Jesus said that he would never leave nor forsake us, he will be with us in times of trouble. If you or someone you know is feeling fearful right now then you need to know that God did not give you the spirit of fear, nooo, but He did give you the Spirit of power, the Spirit of love, and the Spirit of a sound mind. Read 2Timothy 1:7. Fear not, my beloved brethren, the spirit of fear might cause you to run from the fight when the battle has already been won in Jesus’ name.
But, there is a fear that it is good to have, described as the fear of the Lord, reverential fear, which is the beginning of wisdom, the fear that caused Jehoshaphat to run to the Lord when he was troubled. For those of us who are troubled on every side, yes I know how it is; I know the feeling of pain, I know what it’s like when you’ve lost your job, I know how hurtful it is when someone you trusted tells lies about you but none of these experiences are reasons to live in fear.
If you’ve carried years of hurt around it weighs on your spirit, you have a lot of troubles going on but as God was to Abram, so He is to us, our exceeding great reward. This is a reason not to fear but to rejoice, it’s an invitation to ask our God for boldness and healing and to ask the God of heaven to fight our battles for us, to defend and to shield us.
Fear not, be of good courage, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
