Be Tenderhearted And Forgiving
And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you (Ephesians 4:32 KJVLite).
The Word of God tells us to be kind to each other. Not just kind but tenderhearted and forgiving. Are we kind to each other? Are we tenderhearted and forgiving? The Cambridge dictionary breaks down the word ‘kind’ as this:
1. generous, helpful, and thinking about other people’s feelings:
2. not causing harm or damage:
The Free dictionary gives the following meaning:
1. Having or showing a friendly, generous, sympathetic, or warm-hearted nature.
Both dictionaries contribute to our understanding of the word kindness. Still there is a greater, deeper meaning that we must grasp, the kindness of Jesus. Jesus’ kindness cannot be surpassed by human effort. Jesus gave His life to save the world from the curse of sin and death. Everywhere that Jesus went He showed love, tenderheartedness and kindness to the people who genuinely wanted to hear His message.
I pray in the name of Jesus, for all His disciples, to live, live the lives we have sharing the love and kindness of Christ Jesus not only among ourselves but with the world. I pray we learn to forgive each other by being tenderhearted. And in so doing, the world will know that we belong to Jesus, and receive His message. Amen.
