Pray Without Ceasing
1Thessalonians 5:17 says, “pray without ceasing” One way to understand this is to always return to the act of prayer, another way is to pray while you do the things you have to do. God commands that it. In Acts 9:10-12, God sends Ananias to Paul who at the time was called Saul. God described Paul to Ananias so that he could recognise him by what he was doing, he was praying. God wants us to be found in prayer.
There are many scriptures where God says I have heard your prayers. The example in Acts 16:25-26, is encouraging. Paul and Silas were put in jail and at midnight they began to praise and pray to God. The Bible says “the prisoners heard them” Supernatural events took place in prison: an earthquake shook the prisons foundations, doors opened, chains were loosed, suicide was averted, the prisoners had faith to believe in the Lord and received Salvation. Prayer changes people. It does not matter where you are, God moves everywhere, in every place where we pray. Let us pray because God commands it.
I pray that we will exercise our most holy faith for these kinds of supernatural events, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
