The words of Micah the Prophet are relevant to us today. Peoples lands and possessions were taken away. Today it’s repossessions, pensions, benefits and healthcare. We live in challenging times, when in a day a Christian person can be arrested for preaching the gospel, Micah’s words compel us to do good, actively engaging in good works in spite of these times. This is not a time to compromise our faith.

Speaking concerning Samaria and Jerusalem, the Prophet Micah says, “Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! When the morning is light, they practice it because it is in the power of their hand” (Micah 2:1-2 KJV). People do the very same things today but God is watching. “He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does God require of you, But to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:8 NKJV) It is for us to ensure that the works of your hands glorify God. If your hands are in a mess take them out, withdraw them quickly, repent and be blessed.

Father, Almighty God of heaven and earth, there is none besides You who sees all and knows all. Father, I pray, in Jesus’ name, against the working of evil against Your people and in amongst Your people. People with power and authority are doing evil because it is in the power of their hands. Father God, I pray that Your mighty Spirit would move like a wind in congregations, Holy Spirit, move at the altar in church buildings, move at gatherings, and move in homes, I pray, in victory, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
