Jesus wanted His disciples to have peace and He also wants us to have peace. Therefore, He says,
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid (Joh 14:27).

Father God of heaven and earth, we have put our trust in You. There are troubles in cities and towns, some political, social, and racial, invasions, and wars have broken out across the world but we don’t have to be afraid. Rather, we put our trust in Jesus who gives us a peace that no one else can give. Father, the whole world needs this peace, places where there is unrest desperately need this peace.

In the name of Jesus, the peace giver, I pray for peace, the peace of God which passed knowledge, to flood the hearts and minds of everyone who is troubled, to interrupt the disruptive spirits and censure them. Prevent the escalation of violence and loss of life, O God, that peace might reign in hearts and minds (Phil 4:7) in the name of Jesus. We believe in the power of the cross and Your Word in Mat 28:18, and by Your Spirit, we shall not be afraid. In Jesus’ name, we ask for peace. Thank You, Father God. Amen.
