Fear God and Keep His Commandments
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. (Ecc 12:13 ). I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service (Rom 12:1). Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, (Heb 12:1). Heb 4:1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it (Heb 4:1).
Father God, I acknowledge that you alone are God, the ever present, omnipotent God and there is none beside you. (Isa 45:21). I thank you for your wisdom and kindness, your thoughtfulness and foreknowledge that makes a way for us where there is no way. And for your living Word which prepares us for every situation in life’s race, I give you thanks. Help me to be a living sacrifice, a humble vessel of honour fit for your service. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
