“God has reconciled us to himself by Christ Jesus, and given us the ministry of reconciliation.” (2 Cor 5:18-19). The Apostle Paul spoke to the Corinthian brethren to address the issues of their time. Lord, we are also lacking in discipline but You have given us  the ministry of reconciliation. Lord, we thank You. Amen.

Father, the need for reconciliation is great, yet we go about each day as though we have perfect relationships. But, Lord, the flimsy veneer fails to hide the realities. The rifts in some families are so painful that it is easier to close the door. But, God, You don’t close the door on us, Your “ears are open to our cry.” (Psa 34:15). There is emotional damage that seems unreconcilable. It has separated mothers from fathers, and children from parents. The trust has gone, and faith and hope are severely tested. But, in faith, we pray for the healing of emotions, and for full reconciliation through Christ Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah!

Father, guide us in applying this ministry of reconciliation with wisdom, and “the love of God shed abroad in our hearts.” (Rom 5:5). Through Holy Spirit authority, we pray, husbands be reconciled to your wives, and wives likewise to your husbands, in the name of Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! With open hearts filled with compassion, let parents and children, and siblings be reconciled in love through the power of our Saviour’s blood that was shed at Calvary. Hallelujah!

As the Apostle spoke to the Corinthian brethren, Father, cause us to also speak a word of reconciliation to each other. And, let there be peace and oneness, love and rejoicing within the congregation of God’s people as we reconcile one with another, and “be reconciled to God.” (2 Cor 5:20). In Jesus’ name. Hallelujah to Your name, O God. Amen.
