But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. (1Thes 5:8 KJVLite).

Putting on the breastplate of faith and love will show their presence. And covering the head with the helmet, the hope of salvation, is a physical taking up of the Word of God, for a spiritual supernatural covering of the head. “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing assunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”(Heb 4:12 KJVLite).

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I pray, cover the heads of those preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ so that your people to whom the Word is sent will be saved and safe from the wrath that is to come. I pray that none of Your servants will go into battle omitting Your Word and relying only on ‘head knowledge’, worldly ideas and selfish thoughts which leave their heads, physically and spiritually unprotected.  Father, I pray that You would teach us by Your Holy Spirit to apply Your Word for our covering – that all Your servants would put on the unfailing helmet of salvation and live by faith. In the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
