“But if we confess our sins to God, he will keep his promise and do what is right: he will forgive us our sins and purify us from all our wrongdoing” (1John 1:9). Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word that sets us on the straight and narrow way. Help us to recall Your Word to repent and live. Help us to know that without repentance there is no salvation, no forgiveness and no answers to our prayers. Father, if only we could return to the days when mothers prayed and the hearts of the children were pierced, when the preacher preached hell fire and sinners ran to the altar, when no one thought to say the word sin was too harsh. Father, we have become so popular that Sunday service is a popularity contest, and so to tell people to repent in these modern times is not popular at all. But what about the saving of souls? What about doing as Y0ou have commanded us to do – preach the Gospel?

Father, in Jesus’ name have mercy on us, remove our agenda and implement Yours. Let the salvation of Your people be uppermost in the hearts of those You have placed over us. Father, build Your church. Father, establish a people that will call on Your great name. Put Your name in the mouths of people who have never known You. Save them for Your great name’s sake and for Your glory, Hallelujah! Father, in Jesus’ name, I come to You and make my request, bring to pass Your Word that You will pour out Your Spirit into Your people in these last days. Lord, I give You thanks, in the mighty altogether wonderful name of Jesus Christ. AMEN.
