Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty: (Job 5:17 KJVLite).
Happy, because the correction is designed to bring us into paths of blessedness and peace.
Happy, because there is no unnecessary severity in it, only the love of God. Oh what a blessed provision!
Happy, because the correction is not so much against us, as it is against our sins.
Happy, because we have abundant words of consolation.
Happy, because whom the Lord loveth He chasteneth.
Happy, because our light affliction is but for a moment.
Happy knowing that weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.
