Watch Brethren Watch
I can’t help making mention of these scriptures and how Jesus knew there would time like these when people would need to urgently observe a time of watchfulness, and that through prayer we would be made worthy to escape a time of danger, trials and temptation. Scripture says watch meaning spiritual eyes must be opened. We must be aware, wake up from sleep, become conscious, in the execution, duty and exercise of prayer.
The Word of God encourages thus, “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak (Matt 26:41 KJV). “For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would” (Gal 5:17 KJV). “Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man” (Luk 21:36 KJV).
Father, thank You for the power of prayer over temptation. Thank You Lord, that prayer is a way of escape from all evil and causes us to stand before the son of man. Father, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, grant unto Your servants the spirit of prayer that we may call on Your name and be saved. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
