Preach The Gospel Of Jesus Christ
Galatians 1:11-16
The Apostle Paul (formerly Saul) was called by God to preach the Gospel to the Gentiles. It makes complete sense that if God called Saul to preach then God would empower him by His Spirit as to what he should preach. God revealed himself in Saul on the Damascus road. In Acts 9:5 we read that as Saul was knocked down (and some of us have had to experience a knock down because we persecuted the church, in our own way).
Saul asked who are you Lord? (revelation) How could he identify a person as ‘Lord’ without first having knowledge of them. (God) This revelation tells me that the scales had fallen from Saul’s heart that Christ might be revealed, not to him but in him. For Scripture teaches us that, “…Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world” (1 Joh 4:4).
Saul was highly regarded in the Roman world. He had many soldiers at his command but none could have foretold or guarded against this encounter. In fact none of his company knew what had happened to Saul.
God gave Saul a new name, he became Paul, a new man, a new creature (2 Cor 5:17) an Apostle of Jesus Christ. Paul was given the truth of Christ, the Word of God that does not change, or return void. He received his mission to preach the gospel Word of Spirit and Life that delivers sinners from the grip of sin and darkness. We also have a mandate to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.
I pray that the Word of Truth be preached and taught in churches and homes, and everywhere else to the neglected, helpless, sick and dying. I pray that it breaks new ground in hardened hearts, and uplifts those who have lost hope, ministering healing and deliverance from sin and darkness. I pray that this Word of God draws backsliders out from the world of death and destruction, and into the kingdom of God’s dear Son, Jesus Christ. In the soul saving name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Glory Hallelujah! to the Lord. Amen.
