The Love Of The Father
The love of God that comes to us through Christ must be in the church, For God so loved the world that he sent his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. (Joh 3:16).
The church was born out of the love of God, therefore the love of God is in the church and must be demonstrated and flow out from it. Scripture tells us that Jesus Christ loved the church and gave himself for it (Eph 5:25). The command is to love each other as Christ has loved us, (Joh 13:34). It is love that sent Jesus Christ into the world, love why He died on the cross, love why He redeemed us, love why he sits on the right hand of the Father interceding for us.The fact that John observed and experienced this love, he asked ‘what manner of love is this that the Father has bestowed on us that we should be called the sons of God (1 Joh 3:1) reflects an adoption, and engrafting into the family of heaven.
God has delivered us out of darkness into light, reconciled us into the kingdom and into a loving family. Love purchased our Salvation, and it is love that made us God’s purchased possessions. The love of God must be preached in the church: to correct, “For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth” (Pro 3:12). We understand the love of God through His Word which has power to produce love.
I pray for love to displace negative emotional responses and add peace and healing to our lives, in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
