And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed (Rom 13:10). Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober (1Thes 5-6). Pray in the Spirit at all times with every kind of prayer and request. Likewise, be alert with your most diligent efforts and pray for all the saints (Eph 6:18 ISV).

Let us not only be concerned with our own interest but also take other people’s interests into account. (Phil 2:4). When we love each other as Christ loves us we will also think about the needs of our sisters and brothers. And moreover, we will pray for them and do our best to help and support one another as Christian brethren. In John 13:34, while speaking to His disciples, Jesus says, “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.”

May the Lord God bless us as we demonstrate the love of Christ to one another in our service to God and church. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
