Father, David declared, “One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life to behold the beauty of the Lord and to enquire in his temple” (Psa 27:4). David had no longing for prominence or position, status, riches or fame. He had a longing to be in the constant presence of the Lord, and for this he prayed and longed for, that God would grant his one desire.

Father, in Jesus name, my desire in Your will is that Your church would grow and grow in the power of the Holy Spirit. Father, prosper Your people, prosper our souls, (3 Joh 1:2), in a time such as this when the world is upside down, people are turning away from you doing their own thing. But, Father, through You, Christ Jesus overcame the world, and it is my prayer that we Your servants would have this one desire uppermost in our hearts. So I pray, may the weak, the poor, the sick, and the broken-hearted, and those lacking salvation be encouraged by Your Word because of Christ’s victory, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
