“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16 KJVLite). There is no greater demonstration of love than this love: Jesus giving His life for the whole world. What can we do? Jesus said: I’m giving you a new commandment… to love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another (John 13:34). 1 Corinthians 13 tells us more about love: “If I have the gift of prophecy and can understand all secrets and every form of knowledge, and if I have absolute faith to move mountains but have no love, I am nothing. Even if I give away everything that I have and sacrifice myself, but have no love, I gain nothing (1 Corinthians 13:2-3 ISV)”.

Without love, we are nothing and gain nothing. It takes the love of God operating in and through us to make the difference the world needs. To be of value in this time we must demonstrate the love of Christ. We can do this through our words, actions and attitudes and when we tell the world about the love of Jesus: when we tell the children, the orphans, the widows, the strangers and our neighbours. When we show love to one another the world will know that we are Christ’s disciples (John 13:35).

I pray in Jesus’ name, may “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen”. (2 Cor 13:11 KJVLite).
