The Apostle Paul gives Timothy instruction concerning the preaching of the gospel in 2 Timothy 4:2, He says, “Preach the word, be instant in season, reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine”. Paul also proclaimed that the gospel Word of God was the power of God unto salvation (Rom 1:16). In todays church the Word of God is not always preached, which has led to a lack of knowledge, spiritual consciousness and conversion. The gospel is the source of power for the building of the church of Christ. It is to be dispensed by the church to a world in need, but now it would seem that the church needs to have the gospel declared to it. It has become a rare thing to hear sin preached yet Christ gave His life to save people from sin. This is the reason for the short-fall in the church, and to name it all would take me quite some time.

Peter preached repentance in Acts 2:38 saying “…Repent, and be baptised every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost” (KJVLite) yet we don’t hear it preached often enough. Repentance is a change of mind, a turning away from sin and being reconciled with God. Sin is in the world, and without the act of repentance sin blocks our way to God, our prayers and forgiveness, and holds us bound in sin. Scripture says “the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Rom 6:23). God gave us Jesus to reveal the wicked one whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming (2 Thes 2:8) All Glory to God! I pray that preachers would use the pulpit to speak the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ who came to save us from sin, and tell the world that Jesus Christ is coming back again for those who believe in the name of Jesus. Amen.
