Wherever we work today there is a system of safety that we have to adhere to in order to be safe. If we work on a building site we may be required to wear a hard hat, at great heights we may be required to wear some kind of harness. At some point these safety items have to be taken off as we cannot go to bed with them on or take a shower while wearing them. This is not so in the kingdom of God. When we work for Almighty God we are required to be on the battlefield, and He has a system of protection for the whole body to ensure that we come to no harm. 

The Word of God instructs us to, “Put on the whole armour of God” (Eph 6:11). Once we put on this armour we are not to take it off, we can sleep with it on, and shower with it on as it is spiritual armour. It is the best system of protection we have to be able to stand against the scheme of the enemy who is constantly trying to harm us. 

This armour includes protection for the head – the helmet of salvation, protection for the chest – the breast plate of righteousness, shoes for the feet – to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ, the shield of faith – a weapon of defence, the sword of the spirit which is the Word of God. Hallelujah! I pray in Jesus’ name that we all wear the armour of God in every circumstance, and remain secure under the protection of God. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
